USO REVEAL: Deer scrap yard…

Welcome back! Today we will be revealing our unidentified scrap object. If you did not see our last blog you can see that here, and if you have no idea what I am talking about continue reading.

Our Unidentified Scrap Object is a monthly blog that we have highlighting cool things we find in our scrap yard. We get all kinds of things, from antique lamps, to ice skates. One week we will show you a picture of the month’s object that shows just one section of the object. We let you take guesses as to what the object from our scrap yard is and one week later we reveal the object along with some history if we can find it. You can check out our previous USO blogs here.

Alright, the moment you have all been waiting for! Scroll down to see what our unidentified scrap object is.

Its brass deer candle holders! These candle holders seem to be Christmas decorations but as I looked online it seems as though these statues are used for an array of decorations. If you look for deer candle holders online you will find a never ending ebay and etsy list of brass/gold deer candle holders as well as just the deer themselves. These deer not only come with or without the candle holder part but different textures, colors, and sizes. As I dug deeper I came to the conclusion that these deer are probably a mass manufactured products that different companies can buy. I did see a few that had the “made in” sticker still on the deer. The stickers were either Korea or India.

So next time you come across a listing on Ebay or Etsy that says. “VINTAGE” or “ONE OF A KIND” brass deer…you will know that those claims are not so correct.
